Kathe will work with the 4th and 5th grade classrooms at Pacifica
Elementary in Oceanside, California in the Fall, 2006. She will
engage students in hands-on science experiments that
complement events her book, TATO. Details to follow.
She will also work with classrooms at Jefferson Elementary in the
Carlsbad Unified School District in California.

The 17th Annual SAN DIEGO OPEN AIR BOOK FAIR will be held on
Sunday, June 12, 2005, from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. in the charming Hillcrest
area of San Diego. The Fair takes place on the 3800 block of 5th Avenue,
between Robinson and University Avenues.
Kathe will be present a science workshop for kids at the Orinda
Bookstore at 276 Village Square in Orinda, California at 2 pm on
Saturday, March 18th, 2006. Her book, TATO, is available at the
bookstore. More details about the workshop will be posted in January.

teachers next year implementing a language arts and science
unit that she wrote to supplement her middle grade fantasy
adventure, TATO. The schools and scheduled dates are:

Marketing Children's Books - The Good News!
Writers of children’s books do not need to brand themselves in slow
motion, selling one book at a time. There is a built-in market for promoting
children’s books; one where authors of picture books and middle grade
readers can market classroom sets of their book. Public and private
elementary schools have teachers who are eager to buy what you have, if
you understand their needs and know how to approach them. Retired
elementary teacher Kathe Gogolewsk, author of Tato, an award winning
fantasy adventure for middle grade readers, will talk about her experiences
selling her book to classrooms across California. She will share her secrets
for creating a package to present to teachers and their administrators, and
for grants that pay for class sets of her book and an honorarium. She will
also address different ideas for authors to present in a classroom setting.
